Tonight on the Hagmann Report…

7:00pm EDT Show host, 30 year veteran investigator and author, Douglas J Hagmann delivers the Hagmann Executive Summary.  This will be a nightly monologue that will serve to set the tone of the show, cover the top of the news (and if we’re lucky) perhaps blow out a classic Doug Hagmann rant.

7:15pm EDT Joe Hagmann delivers a lightning round of news, current events and whatever madness is breaking with our friends over at WND, Worldview Weekend, American Thinker and Vessel News.

7:30pm EDT Welcome debut guest, courtesy of American Thinker, Mr Mike Razar.

Four years ago, AmericanThinker was kind enough to publish my article on immigration reform. At the time, the issue of paying for the wall was not being discussed. I recently wrote a second article to address that.

The main recommendation I made was to augment the penalties on companies which employ illegal immigrants with a tax or fine or fee of around $5.00 per hour (or more) for each such employee. If it was adopted, the revenue could be initially earmarked to pay for the Wall. A million full time employees would raise around $10 billion each year. Once the Wall is paid for, the money could fund many other useful programs, or just be used to lower the deficit. (Stop laughing!)

This is not the Mexican government writing us a check, but it would come primarily from the labor of Mexican citizens. That should satisfy most Americans, while not embarrassing the Mexican government.

My ideas on the Tax Code have been evolving over time. Here are links to two early articles. A newer version of it will appear in AT. Thomas wants to wait until tax reform takes center stage over health care but I’m not sure it should wait. I would like to get the ideas into the public discourse as soon as possible. So far, no luck. Anyway, it actually eliminates the entire personal and corporate income tax without creating a VAT or sales tax. Pop Quiz: What’s left? I also have a companion piece on budget reform. The latter makes clear that the path to fiscal sanity runs through entitlements. Other discretionary spending except for defense and interest on the debt. Are peanuts. Yeah, THOSE two are discretionary but Medicaid is mandatory. What a bunch of morons we elect. Anyway, this budget piece has more numbers than most AT articles, and it remains unpublished so far. I can send you a copy but it would be better once your audience gets familiar with me, if they like what they hear on other topics.

The most detailed review of Mark Levin’s book I have seen. I wanted his opinion but sadly, he never even acknowledged it. Maybe he never saw it. Most of what I read on Article V conventions seems to obsess over the 16th and 17th Amendments. In my opinion, bad strategy.

An explanation of the real causes of the “crash”. Written somewhat satirically (hence the title) but deadly serious. You may find others who have written similar things but I know of none with an earlier date. It was written in the Fall of 2008 and published in Jan., 2009. This was my first article in AT and remains my favorite. The regulators remain, if not clueless, clue-challenged.

8:00pm EDT  Welcome return guest Mr Gary Hunt.  Gary is a teeth-of-the-beartrap journalist who covers Federal overreach, land grabs and tax payer funded murder since the mass casualty event that immolated the Branch Davidians in Waco, Texas.  Mr Hunt also is a regular contributor at Hagmann Report and his recent articles are available here.

Gary Hunt was arrested by US Federal Marshals at his home in California due to a bench warrant signed by Federal Judge (Oregon) Anna Brown.

Tonight Mr Hunt covers a crucial new article as well as updates us on his appearance in Judge Brown’s Court in Oregon next month.
