When religion loses touch with God it offers wealth, status, and power – the things the world seeks. Christians must be different. Our priority must be bold service of the truth of Jesus Christ. There is power in the Lord. His view of greatness is not ours. Before Jesus washed the disciples’ feet they were arguing about who would be the greatest. Jesus turns everything upside down. Many who are first will be last, and many who are last will be first. How can we serve God and others? Will we put aside pretense and worldly notions of grandeur? When will we cry out to the Lord to transform our hearts? The true power of God can only be found in the humble awareness of a servant. Serve Jesus today or seek what the world can provide. You know where the true power is. How long will we resist the call of God?

So Jesus said to them, “Assuredly I say to you, that in the regeneration, when the Son of Man sits on the throne of His glory, you who have followed Me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel. And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or lands, for My name’s sake, shall receive a hundredfold, and inherit eternal life. But many who are first will be last, and the last first.
