We have been seeing a level of cruelty and depravity that is just staggering. One form is with Nancy Pelosi and Maxine Waters and other horribly corrupt politicians. And another form is people who have been calling for those MAGA-hat-wearing pro-life Catholic school boys to be shot, burned alive, or cut to pieces in a wood chipper. And the people who have been harassing them and their families with death threats.
The Bible speaks about a “mystery of iniquity.” And that is precisely what we are seeing here.
2 Thessalonians 2:7
7 For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth [restrains it] will let, until he be taken out of the way.
How is it possible for people to be SO evil? SO utterly consumed with irrational hatred?
Well, people you worship Jesus, then they become more and more like Him — righteous, and loving, and merciful. And if people worship and serve the devil, then they become more and more like the devil — cruel and deceitful and consumed with hatred.
There are two ways of worshiping the devil. One is doing it openly, and admitting it to yourself, by practicing satanism or voodoo etc. The other is to be totally self-centered and selfish, as if you are the center of the universe. And that’s the way that most people do it.
When Bill Schnoebelen first became a satanist, at the first level of satanism they said that the devil wasn’t real, and satanism was about fulfilling your own desires. So it was a combination of humanism and self-centeredness. Then when he was ready to go “deeper,” he learned that the devil IS real. But they said that the devil is the good guy, and the God of the Bible is the bad guy. Then later when he was ready to go “deeper,” he learned that the devil is the bad guy. And by then he was so demonized and so addicted to power that he didn’t care. (But eventually both he and his wife got saved in spite of all that, which is amazing.)
Look at this list of horrible attitudes and behavior. And note that it begins with people being self-centered and self-absorbed — “lovers of their own selves.” These are things that we are seeing all around us these days — in the news, and in the streets. And it all begins with loving themselves instead of loving God and loving other people. I’m afraid this is a good description of post-modern America.
2 Timothy 3:1-4
3 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
2 For men shall be  lovers of their own selves,  covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
Well, we need to be counter-culture. Because these days, being a committed Christian is not politically correct. It goes against our culture.
Well, it went against the culture in ancient Rome, too. So the Christians in the early church were up against the same kind of thing.
That’s why we need to be “overcomers.”
We are living in a society where a large number of people have been engaging in promiscuity and/or perversion and/or recreational drugs to get high and/or occultism (ranging from satanism to occult “entertainment”). (For somebody to say that something is “just entertainment” and therefore doesn’t impact them morally or spiritually would be similar to me saying that because something is “just a snack” it isn’t fattening.)
Well, all of those things open the door for people to become demonized. And if they are not Christians, then they can become possessed (controlled by the demons instead of just being influenced by them). Therefore, there must be a LOT of seriously demonized (and even possessed) people out there. We see some of it with things like school shootings and cannibalism.
And there is something else. Transgender involves a degree of denying reality and wanting to play God that is literally demonic. There is a huge level of rebellion against God involved. And that also opens the door for becoming demonized. Transgender is saying, “God, I don’t care what You made me. I’m going to be whatever I want to be. And the whole world better go along with it.” In other words, it is a way of claiming to be your own god. Therefore, transgender seriously opens people up to becoming possessed.
Hmmmmm. And it’s not just the transgenders themselves. It’s also all of their enablers. That includes parents and teachers and psychologists and doctors and politicians and media people etc.
Look at how rapidly the whole transgender thing is growing? It’s astounding. It is taking over our society SO quickly. And that tells me that our spiritual and moral moorings as a society are rotten to the core. At this point, real Christians have become few and far between. Most church-goers are CINOs — Christians In Name Only. And a lot of them don’t even know it, because they don’t understand salvation or Christianity or Jesus.
These demonized people are doing seriously evil things, the worst of which is corrupting and defiling and confusing our children. Obviously, we have got to fight that tooth and nail. But there is something else.
I think we need to take the attitude with them that Russ Dizdar had about Jeffrey Dahmer. Russ said that first, Jeffey Dahmer has to get caught and put in prison. And then when he’s in prison, Russ will minister to him.
In other words, it’s toughness, and fighting against the evil — but that is combined with compassion for the person involved. Wanting to see them be set free from those demons. Wanting to see them get saved.
Remember the Gadarene demoniac. After Jesus cast those demons out, then that man was clothed and in his right mind. Before Jesus cast those demons out, that man was running naked in the tombs, wildly cutting himself, and dangerous. But after Jesus got rid of those demons, that man was in his right mind — wearing clothes, and acting normal.
When you look at Nancy Pelosi or John Podesta and other monsters like that, remember Jeffrey Dahmer, who became a Christian in prison before he was executed. And remember the Gadarene demoniac.
So fight against them with everything in you. But also ask God to save them and set them free from those demons.
Jesus told us to pray for our enemies, and that’s a good way to do it.
They are bitter and consumed with hatred. And because they say and do such cruel, vicious, destructive things, it would be easy for us to hate them. But we cannot afford to do that. We have to forgive them and pray for them.
If they can get us to hate them, then they have won. Because their goal is to destroy us. And hatred will destroy us.
The antidote to hatred is to forgive them and pray for them.
Remember that forgiving is an act of the will — not the emotions. The emotions will come later.
We need to guard our hearts. The battle is raging, and we are seeing the damage that these monsters are doing to innocent people. So we have to fight against what they are doing with everything in us. But we also have to guard our hearts.
Guarding our hearts is an important part of being sober and watchful.
1 Peter 5:8-9
8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
9 Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.
The opposite of being sober is being drunk. And drunks are known for being impulsive and driven by emotions. They react based on emotion. In contrast, we need to respond Biblically.
We are living in crazy times. But God is faithful, and God loves us. And there are NO exceptions to Romans 8:28.
Romans 8:28
28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
Also, when we get to Heaven, then God will wipe away all of our tears. And the more I read the news, the more important that promise becomes to me.
Revelation 21:4
4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
The more I read the news, the more I long for that day.
Maranatha! Come, Lord Jesus!
